Gaye Palmer

I am originally from Wolverhampton but have been in London for 27 years. I have a nursing background of 20 years. Currently, I am a Social Prescriber who works in Southwark supporting the people and local communities with their non-medical needs and empowering them to make decisions and choices on aspects of their lives that matter most to them.

I joined this committee to support local communities to make changes from within with the right support. I am honoured to work with a group of individuals who are rich in knowledge, skills and passion and who also want to see the Black African Diaspora thrive as we all know we have the capability to do.

Black food to me means history, heritage, good health, from the ground, legacy, connection, celebration, richness, vitality.
